Let's get the big news out of the way first. And we mean Big. The network of sites you get with a Deluxe Pass membership offers a whopping 5.6 million megs of content (almost all of it movies) for you to download. "That's more porn than you could download in a lifetime," they proudly boast.
Well, maybe if you got started when you were a kid . . .
Here's all the good stuff: Really high quality movies, including full DVDs for download, updates occurring every day (how could there not be when there are over 600 sites in the network?), unlimited downloads (no managers), and adequate general navigation from the main Deluxe Pass content browser.
Before you get a pass you should of course check out some of the content available first. We could only sample a bit (just try getting through all this in a month), but the headliner sites include such well-known names as Playthingz.net, Clubhardball, GBHArchive, VidsVip, AmazingVids, UnityVids, and the list goes on. OK, now for a few things we thought could have been improved. A network this big could really, really use some kind of search function. This wouldn't be easy, but possible. And it doesn't make things any easier that many of the individual sites either don't have search functions or are poorly indexed with crude navigation (for example: Movie Page 1, Movie Page 2, etc.). Sure with 5 million megs of content strewn over 600 sites it's going to be hard to find what you're looking for. But it shouldn't be this hard.
The general classification scheme is just OK. There are eight main categories: DVD Archives (115 sites!), Amateurs, Pornstars, Asian & Hentai, Blowjobs, Pictures, Teens, and Gay & She-Males. Obviously there is a lot of room for overlap (e.g., DVDs of amateur teens who give blowjobs, which is really a specialty of the network as a whole). Just as obvious, since the content browser is the only area where you can really do a search, are the limitations. Some niche fetishes don't appear and the main categories are quite broad and at times even misleading. A few of the "Pornstar" sites, for example, didn't seem to have a lot of pornstar content.
There were over 600 sites when we visited, with more being added all the time. Some of them are not very special. Surprise. But so what?
In addition to requiring a high-speed connection (don't even think of getting a membership if all you have is a modem!), you might also need to upgrade your video player. Most of the sites use the latest version of the DivX player (or its equivalent). This is a free download though so it's not a huge issue.
You should also be aware that despite the huge amount of archive content this is not quite all God's plenty on display. Take the time to browse. There is a pretty good variety, but the emphasis is on teen/amateur group hardcore and oral action. The Hentai section is also stacked. One downside is that a lot of the material will seem pretty familiar (though it is good quality, like all of the stuff here). Remember: Deluxe Pass is a network of video archives (it basically functions the same as an AVS)--it isn't shooting its own porn.
Well, we've tried to be as critical as possible. But if you like downloading a lot of movies there's no denying this is worth it. There are probably at least 20 sites in this network that would be worth the $30 monthly membership alone. And you can expect most of the individual sites to be quite responsibly and professionally run.
